BMORE HACKS Press Release

For Immediate Release

"Filmmaker Applies New School Technology to
An Old School Movie Project"

Riverside, CA- December 2, 2008

For filmmaker and author Maxie D. Collier cutting edge technology has always been one of the keys to self producing his own books, movies, and websites. Some of his previous projects include "Paper Chasers," the Independent Film Channel co-produced documentary on hip-hop entrepreneurship, starring Ludacris, Flavor Flav, Fat Joe,  and many others. As well as his bestselling book,  the "IFILM Digital Video Filmmaker's Handbook," one of the first guides published on amateur and prosumer digital filmmaking.

Collier is also drawing upon emerging digital technology when he debuts his new feature film "BMORE HACKS," in  Baltimore on Weds. December 10th. The period movie tells the stories of a group of illegal cab drivers working the streets of Baltimore in the mid-90s.

Collier is releasing the film direct-to-DVD and digital download on the same night as the film premiere. The debut screening will be streamed live on the web. The movie's soundtrack and t-shirts are already available online at the BMORE HACKS website http://www.bmorehacks.com

Greetings everyone!

Please forgive me for the length of this message, however there is much to share.

First, let me apologize for my lack of communication during my West Coast and Texas, digital hermit years. I would ask that none of you take the lack of communication personal.

I have spent weeks, months, and years as a recluse writing, editing, and coding. But I know it's now time for me to share my research and development with those who may be interested.

It's truly a joy and a pleasure to now be in contact with so many people who have invested time, money, expertise, and talent into the BMORE HACKS movie, DVD, and website. It's really exciting to see everyone network on the website.

About BMORE HACKS- The Movie

Published by: Maxie D. Collier on Wednesday 8th October 2008 01:12am

BMORELeviMoney.jpg

BMORE HACKS is story of a group of illegal cab drivers in Baltimore during the mid-90s, and the many interesting characters they meet during the course of a day.

LEVI, a former middle school teacher. A passionate, charismatic, idealistic young Afrocentric Black man trying to channel his frustration and energy towards his goal of starting Unity Community, “a safe, positive place for anyone trying to live righteous.”

After losing faith in the system, he now hacks to make money to start his community and recruit people to support his efforts. Throughout the day he struggles to stay committed to his goal, while trying to not be affected by the many vices, challenges, and risks of urban living.

RUE, a strong, boisterous, playful Black woman who hacks at various malls and grocery stores. Her soft side gives in to TATE, a soft-spoken, slow moving elderly hack whose car was stolen by Rue’s young nephew, JD, a charming, manipulative, quick tempered young Black man who has lost his self in a crack pipe. His days now consist of hacking and getting high, while causing pain and chaos along the way. Rue agrees to help Tate track down his car, as long as she can still pick up a few passengers along the way.

GIL a quiet laid back, country guy picks up ELIJAH, a sneaky, old street hustler. Elijah uses cash to quickly bond with Gil. The two men spend the day going from mall to another, so that Elijah can skillfully conduct his business as a booster/shoplifter. And while the two men become friends by the end of the day, Gil has one secret he has not shared with Elijah.
