About
When I started the Living History Group in 2007 it was my intention to bring history to life on the stage for school aged youngsters as an alternate avenue of learning. Since I began the company we have had several occassions to present living history to audiences of all ages. I produced two appearances of Benjamin Banneker at the Benjamin Banneker Museum here in Baltimore County. The actor, Aaron Androh (Benjamin Banneker) has worked extensively in the Baltimore Metropolitan area. I have portrayed Isaac Myers in October 2007 and again in April 2008 at the Isaac Myers/Frederick Douglas Maritime Musuem. The company produced the play "escape To Freedom" by Ossie Davis both in February '08 at the Myers/Douglas Museum and in May '08 in Easton, Maryland, the birthplace of Frederick Douglas. I am now preparring to produce an original play based on the life of Isaac Myers, the first Black owner of a ship yard in fells Point, maryland. it will debut in feb 2009.
Young people should be made aware of their history so that they will have a better appreciation of the present.

Dear Ben,
You are so correct, wait and work, and God willing thing will arrive at their due time. I am really thrilled to finally be able to share your wonderful talents with the world via this project. I look forward to seeing you in Baltimore and videotaping you as the audience gives you feedback on your great performance. Thank you Ben aka Pop Bud aka Old Man Tate! :) Peace & blessings, Maxie
